Kava Rose Damiana // Herbal Elixir
A relaxing herbal extract sweetened with honey with the intent to help you wind down.
This elixir is great to add to mocktails, hot beverages, or seltzers.

A bit about the herbs included:
Kava Kava (Piper methysticum)
A native plant to the Pacific Islands that has been used as a social and ceremonial drink traditionally. Kava Kava is used in western herbalism as a calming nervine that reduces anxiety and promotes relaxation.
Damiana (Turnera diffusa)
A gentle and fragrant plant native to Mexico and has been used as a mood enhancer and aphrodisiac
Rose Petal (Rosa damascena)
Packed full of vitamin c and anti inflammatory. Rose petals are calming, cooling and uplifting.

Kava kava, damiana, rose petals, cinnamon, ginger root, raw honey, grain alcohol
What is an elixir?
An elixir is an herbal preparation that is something in between a tincture (alcohol extract) and a syrup. An elixir starts out as a tincture which is an alcohol extraction where a fresh or dried plant seeps in 80 proof or higher alcohol. Later, it is sweetened up (unlike a tincture). I create mine with 80 proof vodka and organic raw honey.
An elixir has a longer shelf life than a syrup and does not need refrigeration!
